Pros

On your own most of the time.

Cons

Sold off our warehouse to a distributor, who made us buy the utz truck with several thousand up front. Bottom line is that Utz sold us loyal route salesman down the river to make more money. Little to no notice of this happening..it was either do this, or you're out of a job. Now I'm stuck in a job with false promises of the money I would make make, and thousands of dollard in repairs on a truck. Stay away!

Pros

Decent pay Self Reliant Work Free Junk Food

Cons

They have no respect for your personal time. If it's your day off or hours after you finished working for the day, if they call you, you're expected to work. Raise any concern on the matter and all you'll get is a "Sorry, that's the way it is." Since it's a commission based position, working 12 hour days is very common. The paychecks look good, but after working 60 hour weeks, you may find that you're getting paid just over minimum wage for all your work. Some of the clients were nice, however with the larger stores, you'll find that same lack of respect for your personal time where a company will expect you to wait for hours before they allow you to assemble a display. If you ask management for help with a particularly lengthy task, more often than not they'll tell you that you can handle it yourself. If one of your stops doesn't want a display, expect your regional manager to blame you for not trying hard enough.

Pros

*A lot of good "rank and file" people in the company *Nice holiday party in December *Free snacks all year *Nice, free company gym *Executives are actually pretty laid back & friendly

Cons

*Utz likes to buy smaller companies, let go of a lot of those company's back office employees, and then the Utz staff must shoulder the added work with no additional staff or compensation. This has happened after multiple acquisitions. *Very little opportunity for advancement, depending on your department. Utz will not invest in adding more people for some departments that are stretched thin, but they will create new positions in other departments whenever they feel the need. *Merit-based raises do not exist at Utz, at least not in my department. You can be 100 times more productive than the weakest link on the team, but you both get the same percentage increase.
