Pros

Exposure to global operations and client environments. Structured processes in certain functional areas.

Cons

Compensation is significantly below market standards for similar roles. Lack of transparency and fairness in salary progression. Poor employee-centric practices despite being a large global organization. Final settlement was not processed within a reasonable or expected legal timeframe, causing unnecessary inconvenience. Over-centralized decision-making with heavy reliance on external market practices, limiting local relevance. Pressure to follow processes that do not fully align with Sri Lankan labour laws and accepted HR practices. Lack of empowerment for local HR teams to ensure compliance with country-specific legal requirements.

Thank you for your feedback. We are pleased to hear that you valued our work environment and the global exposure gained during your time with VFS Global. At the same time, we take your concerns about compensation, transparency, and local compliance seriously. We continuously review our salary structure to ensure internal parity and alignment with industry standards, while offering growth opportunities and conducting performance reviews to facilitate professional advancement. Our regional teams are fully empowered and responsible for ensuring all practices align with country-specific labour laws. To ensure further oversight, our central compliance teams perform regular audits to maintain these standards. Finally, regarding the exit process, we process all Full & Final settlements within our outlined timelines once clearances are received; in this instance, our records show the process was completed within that expected timeframe. If you have any further specific concerns, we encourage you to write to us on communications@vfsglobal.com, so we are able to address them appropriately and ensure continuous improvement of our processes.

Pros

the team are well versed with the work undertaken.

Cons

if you cannot speak hindi then you will not excel in this company, the company has hired south Asians only, most of the higher managers are on H1B visas, very much toxic work environment where the managers are expected to work on weekends and holidays.

Thank you for sharing your feedback. At VFS Global, we take all concerns regarding workplace inclusivity, culture, and communication standards extremely seriously. Our operations in the United States are powered by a diverse workforce of over 350 individuals representing various ethnicities and countries including the United States. This diverse talent pool allows us to successfully mirror and support the global diplomatic missions we serve. To provide context, a significant portion of our operations in the US supports the Government of India’s diplomatic missions. To meet the explicit consular service expectations of these sovereign clients and effectively assist the public they serve, proficiency in regional Indian languages is a critical operational requirement for specific roles. That being said, English remains our official language for all internal communications, corporate operations, and recruitment practices, including our hiring process, which is strictly merit-based. Further, we remain committed to operating in strict alignment with US labour laws and employee schedules are structured accordingly. While the nature of international diplomatic support may require occasional extended rostering to meet critical public demands, these schedules are carefully managed and planned in advance to ensure fair shift distribution. We encourage you to share specific concerns, if any, with us on Communications@vfsglobal.com.
