Pros

I worked for HPCCR for 12 years and can honestly say this organization is the best Hospice in Charlotte. All the staff are so caring and dedicated to patients and community. As a non profit HPCCR never denies service based on patients ability to pay. They go above and beyond what is required in a Hospice provider. HPCCR has starred in 1978 and is the largest and best provider in the region. I have never worked anywhere else that gave me so much support and personal rewards. They are truly a family. Case managers have many responsibilities and autonomy. To be a great Hospice nurse is a calling. It is not just a job.

Cons

I could have made more money perhaps working for a hospital but the rewards far outweighed the difference in pay.

Pros

The pay is competitive, specifically for the area

Cons

Expensive insurance, covers very little. Cheap short term disability (if you work here, make sure to have back up short term disability insurance) The culture of the Hospice House is off putting and unprofessional. One of the day shift nurses is absolutely terrible, she is a bully who runs to sympathetic management- no corrective action is taken by admin, even after numerous complaints by peers. Management will talk poorly about nurses to other staff members. The current administrator prefers drama to competency.
