Providing Care the Right Way - Chief Operating Officer (COO) VIA Health Partners Employee Review

Pros

Patient care and patient needs always come first. Decision making, from top down, is run through that filter. We work hard to ensure there are minimal barriers to coming under care with VIA - regardless of acuity, complexity, or ability to pay. We recognize that the communities we operate in deserve exceptional hospice and palliative care... and VIA's sustainability is crucial to ensure the community has an authentic and high-quality provider available for the long term. When you treat patients and employees the right way, the everything else will fall into place!

Cons

Because referral sources have recognized the positive differences in how VIA operates, it has lead to tremendous growth... and that growth can run faster than onboarding of new staff, especially with the realities of the healthcare labor pool. The great news is VIA is committed to recruiting and retaining the best talent and working ahead of that curve. And once people join, they always comment on how refreshing it is to find a healthcare operation like VIA.

Pros

The pay is competitive, specifically for the area

Cons

Expensive insurance, covers very little. Cheap short term disability (if you work here, make sure to have back up short term disability insurance) The culture of the Hospice House is off putting and unprofessional. One of the day shift nurses is absolutely terrible, she is a bully who runs to sympathetic management- no corrective action is taken by admin, even after numerous complaints by peers. Management will talk poorly about nurses to other staff members. The current administrator prefers drama to competency.
