Pros

If you work overtime they provide an incentive

Cons

I thought working here would be great but turns out I was horribly wrong. Every time I come to work I know there’s going to be drama with staffing. Vitas claims to have nurses available 24/7 but that is a lie. Especially overnight. You have families and doctors upset when you can’t provide a nurse to go out but it’s not your fault. Vitas needs to stop with the false advertisement. Management is so rude as well and unprofessional. You literally have to back track everything you do and document throughly because they will blame you for their mistakes. It’s sickening. Also, the nurses (from vitas) who call in the reports are rude as ever too. You have a few kind ones but the rest are awful. The Vitas Reps that call in are over the top and annoying as well. Oh, and we’re always short staffed. We have lost so much staff since I started and haven’t replaced half. It’s so sad. You deal with emotional families who expect what we said we would provide. We can’t provide quality care because Vitas employees are constantly quitting/ getting fired for stupid reasons. I would advise you not to work here. They also tell you there’s room to grow but won’t promote or move you due to short staffing. This company is a lie.

Pros

Very friendly and helpful colleagues. I came to this company with very little experience and all of my colleagues helped and educated me with all things hospice care. I got promoted 4 months after being hired as a clerk into a secretary job. Best job I've ever have.

Cons

None that I can think of.

Pros

Great organization structure. significant opportunity to growth for lateral and/or vertical transition. Great compensation for all disciplines if done right, a great work life balance

Cons

Initial hiring, orientation is relatively slow may be even boring process. organization values people too much and believes in helping growth of individual so much so that some time slackers are able to survive longer then they should. which can cause loss of motivation for highly driven team members. the way I would survive if I am motivated for the cause is do what is right for you and your patients, apart from that just wait for the right time. Biggest pain point is EMR. this organization is slow to the game but the organization is building and perfecting home built EMR product to have maximum flexibility. currently going through growing pains.
