Pros

The pro’s of case management is spending time with the patient and family. There’s a lot of autonomy with being a case manager, you get to schedule patients wkly, according to need and location. Checking in with family members for any updates and altering plans for wk if needed. While traveling to home there are times you need to pull into a sweet coffee shop and take a breather while you contact MD and send msg’s to the office or supply vendor . Throughout day you stay in contact with your team members through a team chat that’s continuous. So yes maybe you miss your teammates but we do all meet up 1 day a wk for meeting day.

Cons

The cons are few that I have seen, but I would say..training across the board in all positions. ( I have seen new nurses not knowing what to do) Working the one weekend a month, (Perhaps make it time and half along with taking the 2 days off in place of working the weekend.)

I love working for this company because it truly keeps patients and families first; treats employees with respect; cares about compassion and empathy; has great marketplace recognition; and has a world-class sales team.

Pros

Rewarding to help patients and families. No direct patient contact. Good clinical support.

Cons

Extreme micromanagement. Non clinical leadership lacking understanding as to what Triage Nurses do and that not all calls are the same. Management by Exception practiced based on favoritism. Revolving door of Triage Nurses leaving and new hires requiring weeks of training resulting in the department being chronically understaffed.
