Pros

I started about 5 months ago and Valtech Toronto's been going through a lot of amazing changes. From expanding the office space (which looks really great), increasing internal and external events (they've been focusing a lot in culture, learning, and development across all departments), and the leaderships here really care about their team and everyone. I really like my team and leaders, and of course everyone else in other departments! There's no really micromanaging anything here, you own your work and everyone trusts you to get your work done. Lots of interesting and exciting projects coming through!

Cons

This isn't so much of a totally negative thing. But, the opposite of what I stated previously above, there are some growing pains at the same time. For example, some processes may not be fully developed yet. The office was more of a dev workshop for a long time before Valtech acquired the office not too long ago. However, I am glad to say that right at this moment we are constantly working together and collaborating with each other to improve it all and it seems to be working well!

Pros

Great work environment. Real commitment to diversity that goes beyond the surface level.

Cons

Thin spread of employees that results in a lot of work on each contributor individually.

Pros

Great well known clients & interesting projects.

Cons

There are no growth opportunities; people managers don't know how to lead; there are layoffs every 2 months for the past 18 months; there is no training (employees are told to learn on their own time / weekends) because if they are not >50% chargeable, they are on the RIF list. The company grew through acquisitions but never integrated or unified the various companies. There are no standard processes, everything is ad hoc. There were no raises this year and no bonuses either of the last 2 years.
