Good people (depending on the team and department), ok work-life balance. Good place to start your career.
Cons
Over the past few years, they have been reducing the quality and number of benefits (higher insurance premiums for plans that don't cover much, no longer offering child's tuition benefit or employee tuition reimbursement unless hired before 2019, reduction in the number of PTO - sick days). No career growth perspective and extremely low pay. Management pretends the low pay is fair and claims every VUMC employee in the same position with the same experience is paid the same. This is not true (as learned from friends working in other departments). How HR comes up with salary quotes is a mystery. This process is not transparent. CREDO is preached by leaders though not often followed. Lack of clear communication from upper management. Very hard to come across good leaders, though there are some.
