Pros

Good pay (at least in my area) Could be due to high turnover Vanderbilt is well-renowned Reimbursement on license Ability to Get Overtime

Cons

Parking. The rate is the same, despite the salary (a doctor making over $100k/year pays the same parking rate as someone who makes $25k/year) PTO (if you don't use it you lose it and your new PTO bank starts over July 1st) Also you can't really cash it only maybe for only 5% of the pay I believe High turnover rate in the pharmacy - We've had 4 people quit in the past 2 months and an additional 8 people in the past year when our staff is about 20 of us HR is SLOW about hiring. We can't find people to cover shifts which is causing more people to get fed up and quit!

Pros

Work from home is nice Decent pay

Cons

Everything, micro managing at its finest, you get pto but can NEVER get approved time off which forces you to call out and get a write up. No one answers phones so they are back to back to back for the ones actually working.

Pros

I like working at VUMC a lot. They offer a lot for their employees in terms of benefits and resources. They send weekly newsletters, and leadership sends out video updates every month or so. It definitely seems like the Medical Center cares about its employees. The people I have had to interact with both in my department and in other departments are all professional and do their jobs.

Cons

I cannot really think of any major cons for where I work, although as someone who grew up in the country, I will never understand paying to park at your job. I am in research, and I recognize that those working in clinical roles may view things differently as they are in much higher-stress situations (especially with the pandemic), but I like it here much better than I have liked working at other places.
