Pros
Worked here for several years, enjoyed it a lot. The firm brings in a lot of interesting, high-profile projects to work on. Pay is decent, work-life balance is above average. Headquarters location in Boston is superb. I really enjoyed my co-workers and managers -- lots of smart people willing to train and work with you. There was some flexibility with lateral movement in the firm so I could get experience with other aspects of the engineering world. Some teams operate or have a different culture than others so I don't think everyone will have the same experience across the board. Overall I could not be happier with my time at Vanderweil. Great company overall.
Cons
Career paths can be somewhat undefined. Definitely recommend to go after what you want instead of waiting for change. No bonuses except for upper management. As others mentioned the office is closed during the Christmas week but they require you to take PTO or get manager approval to work (in an empty office, with little industry movement at that time). This irks a lot of people.
