They will follow company policy and not leave you stranded. They will get you home when needed. Free education but that online school isn’t the same thing as the real UOA. It’s not respected in the professional workforce.
Cons
Home time is minimum/worse than what they say. They count the day you drive towards your home as a day off, and the last day of home time they force a load. Load planning the week of your home time, you will be punished and lose about 60% of your paycheck. They basically won’t run you at all that week. You just get pulled into Atlanta area and sit around running local routes/no miles. The lies are horrible. 90% live load/live unload. They don’t plan loads until you’re empty. No pre plan means you finish , your load Friday and they will give you a 500 mile run that is live unload on Monday. Come Monday morning you waste the entire day and then your next pre plan is Tuesday at 5pm. You will have to hustle to barely break 2500 miles . Soli sleeper break you will be working from 4am until 9pm at night and only drive 200 miles if that. There is no fleet managers or people that know who you are. It’s just a call center and the real people planning he loads and managers etc…they don’t like to deal with drivers so you have to deal with “OPS” staff. None of them can do anything or make decisions so it’s basically just a middle person and you will just sit around all day with no communication and waiting for a pick up number or appointment. It all comes down to they are very poor at communicating and operations and you just sit around, Managers play games with drivers and OPS. They will constantly fight with drivers about layover. You can sit around for 3 days waiting for a load and they will try to fight you on the $100 a day. It’s none sense. Your entire job at variant is fighting with managers and OPS about $100 instead of driving,
