Pros
When people ask me what I enjoy about my job the most, my answer is always the same: Vector Solutions permeates kindness - from its mission of serving everyday heroes (such as teachers, firefighters, law enforcement, EMS among many others) so that they are empowered to make safer, smarter, better decisions - to the way colleagues at Vector treat one another on a day-to-day basis - with kindness, integrity and respect. I feel genuinely valued and heard at Vector because Vector management and colleagues regularly and openly listen to and recognize its employees and a job well done -both through formal recognition programs but also with personal and authentic acknowledgments and responsiveness to concerns. Communication at every level is consistent, sincere and transparent. I feel very proud of the work I do and the impact Vector is making. I work with incredibly talented people - and every single one of them is so very passionate about the work they do and feel empowered with the leg-room, tools and path to do so. Vector has provided me with an incredible career path. I started out as a Project Manager with zero reports and have since enjoyed several promotions in my time here. I now oversee an entire division, a team of 14 employees, based in all Vector locations across the U.S. Vector has done an unparalleled job during the COVID crisis: setting up all employees to work from home; offering schedule flexibility for those with challenges during this time; sending surprise gifts and swag to all employees; scheduling fun virtual events (such as remote pizza parties, online hosted trivia games; guest speakers; and a comedienne) to help with engagement and morale. It's been obvious to everyone how much Vector truly cares about the physical and mental wellbeing of its employees - through word and deed. All of this makes my "job" not feel like a "job" but I feel like I'm serving a higher purpose - that our work is making an impact on the world - every single day.
Cons
Like most companies, it can sometimes feel that Sales takes center stage with certain perks, etc, but Vector has done a lot in recent years to help ensure all employees' efforts are recognized in grand ways, such as including other departments in what used to be Sales only incentive programs and awards, like Pinnacle Club, which awards recipients with a trip to someplace fabulous like the Bahamas (cash during COVID). This used to be for just top Sales, but Vector now includes members of other departments who demonstrated exceptional work for that year. The leaders in Sales are openly very appreciative of the other depts and go out of their way to acknowledge their contributions to the larger picture. While there's still room for growth in the Sales focus, these are great examples of how Vector listens to feedback, actively pivots, addressing concerns/needs for change.
