Pros

- Great employee discount that applies to sales items - Perks include in-store contests with prizes like Vera bucks and Starbucks giftcards - Easy to request time off or change your schedule (management never says no) - Clean and beautiful store really has a luxury feel to it

Cons

Although I love my store and the brand, there are plenty of downsides to working for this company. - Sales/conversion/UPT goals are unrealistic. - Managers feel pressured and then pressure the sales associates to sell more and more, leading to a high-stress enviroment. - Company has also began to track employee sales (so how much each individual is selling) and posts this publically - it feels very competitive & awkward especially when we aren't making any comission for sales. - VB seems to be at a crossroads with where the company is going and who they're marketing to. Older customers miss the traditional Vera & frequently complain about the rapidly decreasing product quality and how quickly the company retires styles and patterns. - Hours are all over the place. Some weeks you'll get 20-25 hours and some weeks you'll be left with 7, divided up into two crappy shifts. It's awful and a big part of the reason why VB has a high turnover rate

Pros

-Good employee discount of excellent product -Competitions set on all levels of the field to strive in -Extremely great comradery amongst each other with respect for one another (you are not just a number or a location - you are a person) with healthy communications between the fields -We serve a vast and wonderful clientele to market/sell too- -Although the rebrand was not the success some thought it would be, VB is getting back to where she once was and that is amazing! -Diversity holiday time -There is a general concern for both success, respect and diversity

Cons

-Setbacks on for tools/communication engines that lead to some confusion task management -Store closers vs proactive store relocations -Logistical inventory issues -Shopper surveys closed down (previous management choice) -There is little opportunity for internal promotions for career growth

Pros

Good bonus structure, discount, new ceo is great

Cons

Loved this job until new upper management swap! DMs micromanaging constantly & are constantly adding new ops which make it hard to focus on sales!
