Pros
Really smart engineers that have built great products. Good revenue growth the last couple of years. Company is extremely undervalued since they haven’t gone up for a round of funding in more than 2 years. Good office perks and decent benefits. Most people are nice, helpful, and overall good co-workers. You’ll learn a lot and get a lot of ownership if you want that. For sales: some territories are great and some are terrible. Some managers are great and some are just okay. OTE is sub par but if you are getting 150 - 300% of goal, you’ll make a ton of money. Negotiate your offer, they don’t get enough equity to AEs.
Cons
Depending on your role, org, and seniority you could have a great time at Verkada or not. Verkada is good for people starting their career or very senior individuals. Compensation is below average for most roles outside of engineering. The amount of RSUs they give out now is pathetic. The overall company feels understaffed. Due to that, a lot of orgs and people are overworked. (Finance, marketing, Business Systems). Hans and CFO are super biased regarding backgrounds, where you graduated from school, where you last worked so hiring is just off overall at the company. Lack of diversity overall. Company isn’t open to remote for most roles.
