Pros

The pay and benefits are good and the work is interesting. The company, which is supported by Ford Motor, is helpful to employees who are in the midst of losing their jobs. We are protected by a solid separation plan, which provides for outplacement help once we are separated and a decent amount of money. Despite the downturn in the economy, we are still here and the work is always challenging. I feel I have a good chance to learn more about my area of expertise and the leadership team seems interested in what we are experiencing and going through.

Cons

This is a company that was designed to go out of business so it's not the most positive environment. We don't know exactly when this will happen so the uncertainty can be wearing. We are probably a year or two away from being closed so it makes it hard to know when to jump ship or whether to stay with the company. It's easy to want to stay in denial since this has been a great job and one where we all thought we'd stay for a long time! Still, we seem to be treated fairly, given the poor state of the automotive industry and the uncertainty.

Pros

Higher than average pay. Significant social media presence. DEI friendly.

Cons

Cut-throat corporate culture. One of the least respected and untrustworthy suppliers in the industry it serves. If being under constant threat of job loss, being on call 24 hours a day, and getting screamed at by middle management suffering from Dunning-Kruger effect is your preference, Visteon is the place for you.
