Pros
This is a great place if you are looking to cut your teeth in the AI (driverless car) domain as the company is scrambling to catch up to advances made by the likes of Tesla, Google/Waymo, Harman etc. However, the old guard at the company (hardware engineers) has been incentivized to move on en masse with retirement incentives.
Cons
The company is in a bit of an identity crisis and trying to transform itself into a software company from being a traditional hardware company. However, the new software guys onboarded are mostly short-term contractors from outsourcing firms like Teoresi Group. This has prevented the company from having a long term approach to employee satisfaction. It is mostly a use and throw approach. Even with local hires, I am aware of a young colleague who was onboarded with benefits verbally promised but later retracted. For new hires, my advice is that make sure that everything that is promised to you is in writing.
