Pros

They had consistent hours and when I was there they were understaffed enough that you got the hours you wanted generally. The residents were mostly good and it was nice to add to their lives

Cons

There were a lot of downsides to this job. The first was that there was not adequate training for all aspects of working with senior citizens - more then once I witnessed a fall I was not trained to handle at ALL. It also didn’t pay very well, I was making $12 an hour at the time. Most importantly the food was terrible, which means the residents were always upset with us and we couldn’t do anything about it. The culture when I was there was very conservative and multiple times there was less then polite things said about the LGBTQ community.
