Pros

Decent benefits, but that is balanced by the worst pay in the medical device industry. At least you can come in at 9 and leave at 3 and no one cares.

Cons

Everytime I see the write up about Gore every year as Best Place To Work, it makes me want to puke. Gore is truly the joke of the medical device community. Sure, they've had some successes. But those successes come as the expense of time and money. Gore has got to be the most inefficient company in America! Sure, there are bosses. People don't just choose who they want to follow. No, you don't pick your committments...your boss does. How stupid are you if you believe you just walk in and do what you want to do? Gore is the same as any other company, they just call it something else and Fortune 500 and the public think its the best place since sliced bread. Enticing, isn't it? Until you get there and find out your bosses are telling you what to do. No wonder the attition rate in the Flagstaff offices is so high...and thats not counting those people who are dying to leave but can't bc of the housing downfall. Fortune says that each building has no more than 100-200 employees. One building has 600+. It's all a lie!

Pros

Great benefits and pay helps and feels great, initially.

Cons

The workplace culture is highly toxic and not as supportive of talent as they let on. High performers are targeted by internal cliques who deliberately engineer situations for them to fail. Management entirely condones this behavior, while simultaneously expecting absolute perfection from employees under impossible conditions—forgetting that people are not AI. Furthermore, professional merit is ignored; higher levels of education, years of experience, and employee longevity mean absolutely nothing. Management relies heavily on deflection and stalling tactics to delay growth opportunities. It is an exhausting environment that penalizes hard work and actively blocks career advancement. Overall, the company falls short with their original principles and core foundations for its employees/Associates.
