Pros

The people I work with are great. The current benefits are also appealing between company stock, vacations, and multiple forms of leave. The mission of “Together, Improving Life” is motivating and I’ve thus far never had a day I dreaded going to work. Also love the hybrid option for flexible work (although this is apparently changing for the worse?). Historically, great balance for work life.

Cons

I just don’t get it with this CEO. He does not seem to be qualified (he’s a family member so blatant nepotism at play - his LinkedIn progression makes it glaringly obvious) and his actions seem to validate it. He’s making so many changes at once that I wonder if anyone is happy with his presence outside of the Gore family. Blatant disregard for employees and anything beyond driving toward family-set growth goals. The satisfaction among those I work with is exponentially decreasing with uncertainty and changes afoot. Don’t believe what you’ve heard about the company. We are neither flat nor make our own commitments anymore.

Pros

Great benefits and pay helps and feels great, initially.

Cons

The workplace culture is highly toxic and not as supportive of talent as they let on. High performers are targeted by internal cliques who deliberately engineer situations for them to fail. Management entirely condones this behavior, while simultaneously expecting absolute perfection from employees under impossible conditions—forgetting that people are not AI. Furthermore, professional merit is ignored; higher levels of education, years of experience, and employee longevity mean absolutely nothing. Management relies heavily on deflection and stalling tactics to delay growth opportunities. It is an exhausting environment that penalizes hard work and actively blocks career advancement. Overall, the company falls short with their original principles and core foundations for its employees/Associates.
