      Waste Management has no loyalties - Commercial Driver WM Employee Review

      Pros

      The work was always there . Most co-workers were easy to work with. The pay was above average for the area. I did not reqire alot of supervision.

      Cons

      Supervision and sycophants littered the job with a toxic atmosphere. The inability of management to be professional was appalling. Route manager ran things his way and only certain chosen workers could be in his inner circle. The District Manager was his golf buddy and he divided his time between another site. Of course no one could keep checks and balances on the operation if the "fox is guarding the hen house" .Waste Management is crawling with mismanagement and for new talented people to work there it will always crush any chance to advancement. Favoritism is a cancer and this company is like playing "Survivor", try not to get voted off. Company changes rules to suit their agenda and going to H.R. is a joke even when managers break rules discipline is only for the drivers so get used to that dead-end street right away.Surveillance by cameras in the vehicles , by management or by a subordinate could be a safety tool but instead it was simply a scare tactic and could be used to enforce bizarre rules but not for everyone.

      to be honest no pros.

      Working here was stressful, I was starting to deal with anxiety and panic attacks especially when dealing with my Supervisor who was awful since the moment he arrived. I'm one to always be respectful no matter what but at some point you loose respect and you can't allow anyone to disrespect doesn't matter if he's your boss. They fire the hard working people while keeping the ones that do more damage in the work place. Ones that could hurt other employees yet nothing was done while firing the good ones. The Manager that arrived before I was let go was even worst! I wasn't sure what I needed to let her know or not know because since day one when I communicated with her she just brushed me off and never got back to me about anything or she told me to take her off all the emails she was attached to. Then threaten me on an email if I didn't show up to work when I had requested a day off. I mean there's a lot more I can say about both of them. Now about HR... after I was let go I requested termination documents and personnel file in January I waited a month to do a follow up got the run arounds then I was told they were going to get back to me. I waited and did another follow up they ignored my email I did another follow up and got ignored again we are now in April still nothing.
