Pros

Discount for employees is decent.

Cons

Lazy ASM's. Managers delegate training (of ASM-t's) to Shift Leads, who think they deserve your job. SFL's denigrate and hyper-critique your work due to their jealousy. You'll be scrubbing toilets and mopping the floor while the people that train you, sit up in the office and speak poorly about you. you'll get told on so much, that eventually the SM will get sick of hearing about it, and call you into the office to demean you, and threaten to write you up, or deny your promotion. Push management. The only thing that matters there, is driving the metrics. You will never matter, work many nights, and be tasked with dust mopping and mopping the floor, because the company is too cheap to regularly schedule a proper cleaning crew, to mop the floor (the pros come in once a month). Lots of theft from consumers. You're asked to hand them a hand cart if you suspect someone stealing. Junkies regularly shoot-up in the bathrooms and discard their needles in the toilet. Also, they discard their soiled under garments in the trash. They bathe at the sink, and dry off with paper toweling. If you're lucky and they lock the door, be prepared to run you feet off, to grab they key to open the door for them. If you have overstock, be prepared to wheel a cart around to stock your assigned area. Be prepared to be indoctrinated, used, then cast aside. Leadership and management will assign themselves the easy tasks, and assign you the more tedious and laborious ones.

Pros

Gave me decent pay. Bought us little gifts and food at holidays.

Cons

Gave away one of my paychecks to another employee and refused to reimburse me because of issues with "their bank." My RxM created a hostile work environment showing clear favoritism for employees. Eventually, HR got involved, and I was no longer scheduled with him. I did not ask for this change, and actively resented it, because now I had fewer hours, meaning less pay on top of the $500 corporate had already stolen from me. They had no interest in training me or anyone else to become certified as promised. Over and over again, they hired people, ran out the time on their licenses, and let techs choose between paying to get certified elsewhere, or losing their jobs. The only thing Walgreens was passionate about was convincing patients that they couldn't even provide their regular medications to get vaccines. Often unneeded. The "patient care" calls are blatant and illegal marketing for vaccines, since Walgreens makes it next to impossible for a patient to opt out of it. I would NEVER get my medications here after seeing how poorly everything is managed, how unethical company policies and patient health were regarded, and how mistreated the staff were.
