Typical response to a question, why does it take 8 steps to get a job done when it can be done in 3? Response: “We’ve always done it that way.” A person errs in a company wide notification. I call that person on it. The response: I’ve been doing this job for 25 years and I rely on my teammates to correct my errors.” Huh? You are given allegedly 25 ETO (earned time off) days. Yay right? What they tell you later is if you get sick or a holiday comes up, both are taken out of your EARNED TIME OFF. So that means if you join the company in November and you haven’t earned enough ETO to cover Thanksgiving, you can take that holiday off but leave without pay. If you get sick (Covid, cold, fever) time off is taken out of ETO. Of course if you are sick for an extended period (6 days) they got something called ESL (extended sick leave). Separate from ETO. But less than 6? Time off is taken out of ETO.
