Pros

I've been working here for two years, and like most companies, there are several pros and cons. This company has a clear vision of where it wants to go for the future which is evident by it's growth in volume and price. The company has focused on smaller markets where there is less competition, making it easier to sell the service. There is also a good amount of training for the new reps who are being introduced into the market. Work/life balance has been great.

Cons

Commission structure is a bit sketchy. I've seen the payouts change several times now since I started working for Waste Connections...none were in the reps' favor. There is still money to be made in the market though. Reps are compensated for gas, but it's a set monthly amount that gets taxed instead of a mileage reimbursement. Those are my main concerns. Most everything else would be considered nitpicking.

Pros

Not many pros. Can’t think of any. People were nice at first but then they all got fired around me. Replaced countlessly.

Cons

If you are not part of “The Foot Hills” then you are already on your way out the door. This is a mafia within the company that lie to the cooperate level employees about wrecks, etc. if you aren’t part of the club and you tell cooperate the truth you get the boot.
