Pros

Waste connections seems to be a really stable company. The workload is quite manageable. If you are young it is a very good job to get your feet in the door as a manager and learn real business skills.

Cons

The pay isn't as high as other companies. This lower pay seems to be driving higher turnover, which is increasing the workload on veteran employees and reduces the allure of the job. This might become a feedback loop that gets worse with time. However, they seem to be giving some raises now, but they will need to continue to be open to more raises to retain employees.

Pros

Waste Connections truly knows how to take care of their employees! Management is great and super hands on. This type of culture is what you want to surround yourself with in a work environment.

Cons

There are no cons I have encountered.

Pros

Lots of overtime available, Saturdays rotational.

Cons

Lots of safety rules. Can't run over crosswalk lines. Can't run past a stop sign. Can't run redlights. Can't eat and drive. Can't drink and drive without a straw. Can't use bluetooth. Must stay 5-8 seconds behind vehicle in front of you at every speed. Must not speed over ten mile posted speed limit. Must have one hand on steering wheel at all times. Two preferred.
