Pros

- Love working with my clients, interacting with the community, and doing actual clinical work - Decent benefits

Cons

- Poor support for therapists, therapists are treated as bottom-of-the-barrel employees - Horrific pay and no raises or incentives - Poor communication and terrible training. Employees often get written up for policies they were never told existed. - Great therapists can be fired over very small administrative issues, while terrible therapists stay employed for years, despite ethical complaints, etc. - Productivity is stressed at the expense of client care

Pros

The work is meaningful, and I’ve had the opportunity to help people during difficult times. I’ve gained valuable clinical experience, worked with supportive coworkers, and had opportunities to develop my skills. The benefits and job stability are also positives.

Cons

Communication between departments could be improved, and workloads can become overwhelming at times. Staffing shortages sometimes increase stress and make it difficult to maintain a healthy work-life balance. There are opportunities to improve support for frontline clinicians.
