In the last year we have worked hard to improve our approach to two-way communications within the organization, to ensure our employees have a voice and an opportunity to share opinions and feedback with our leadership teams. Some new initiatives introduced at our manufacturing sites include, “brown bag lunches” which involve leadership teams hosting informal lunches with a cross selection of employees on a regular basis where they can discuss issues openly. Gemba walks are also a weekly feature on sites where the local management teams engage with the employees on the shop floor on topics important to them. We also aim to host town hall meetings at each site on a quarterly basis, where employees can ask questions and engage with leadership. The feedback surrounding these initiatives has been very positive among our team members and we are currently working on introducing some further initiatives in the coming months, to ensure our employees feel engaged and happy in their work environment. In terms of career opportunities, we had 320 internal position changes and/or promotions in 2018 and we will endeavor to maintain and improve this number every year.
