Pros

• Interview process was personal, thoughtful, and conversational — I always felt like a human being, not an application. • Leadership and Talent Acquisition were transparent and respectful throughout. • The people here genuinely care about the work and one another. • Many employees have been with West for 15, 20, even 30+ years, which speaks volumes about culture and stability. • Work is meaningful — West designs and manufactures drug containment and delivery systems that help medications reach patients safely. • Onboarding has been organized and welcoming, with support at every step.

Cons

Systems and digital tools are in transition (which is normal for a growing organization).

Pros

The work life balance is great ONLY if you work in the right department. Career ladder is great ONLY if you are the lucky chosen shining star. Otherwise you are passed over and forgotten.

Cons

Management creates a toxic environment yet they blame the employees for the bad attitudes or not jumping on board. Management is not listening to the employees feedback...just covering it up. All they care about now is money and employee is just a robot. Its the most toxic environment I have ever worked in. And HR keeps writing, please contact us to discuss in these reviews....well many have discussed with HR and nothing was done. Upper Management talks a great game but nothing filters downs to help the worker bees.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We are disappointed to hear your views. In the last year we have worked hard to improve our approach to two-way communications within the organization, to ensure our employees have a voice and an opportunity to share opinions and feedback with our leadership teams. Some new initiatives introduced at our manufacturing sites include, “brown bag lunches” which involve leadership teams hosting informal lunches with a cross selection of employees on a regular basis where they can discuss issues openly. Gemba walks are also a weekly feature on sites where the local management teams engage with the employees on the shop floor on topics important to them. We also aim to host town hall meetings at each site on a quarterly basis, where employees can ask questions and engage with leadership. The feedback surrounding these initiatives has been very positive among our team members and we are currently working on introducing some further initiatives in the coming months, to ensure our employees feel engaged and happy in their work environment. In terms of career opportunities, we had 320 internal position changes and/or promotions in 2018 and we will endeavor to maintain and improve this number every year.

However, we thank you for your input, as it is important to hear feedback in order to create a work environment where employees feel they're valued, treated fairly and respected. Our management team is held accountable for high-performance and standards, and we feel our committed group of leaders is one of the many things that makes West so special. We realize that we can all improve on our communication skills, and as a result of feedback we have received from our team members, we have recently implemented ongoing leadership communication training for our entire West leadership team.
