Pros

There is an on site gym and depending on your department and manager you can sometimes work from home. Very generous 401k savings plan.

Cons

In regards to diversity, there are minorities working here but the problem is they are offered low level positions while white counterparts are paid more or have a higher level position. I've referred many applicants who happen to be minorities to apply for research positions and they all tell me they got the rejection email. When I reached out to the hiring managers for said positions they told me that they never received those applicants resumes from HR and the reason is that if a candidate doesn't meet the minimum qualifications for a position HR will not even consider forwarding their application to the hiring manager. The hiring mangers have admitted to me that this is archaic because they end up hiring people who don't work out in the end. Another area for concern is that while it hasn't been directed at me personally (yet), I've heard racist comments made by white employees. I recall an incident in which I was in the kitchen area and two white males were discussing how filthy the microwave was. The first man asked "Where are the janitors at? They haven't been doing their job." to which the second man replies "Probably being held at a facility for deportation" and both men proceeded to laugh. This disgusted me to my core as a minority. I never reported it because I don't believe HR would take appropriate action due to the fact that there are white employees employed in the HR department.
