Pros
Once a great company and there are still some amazing people that work there from that time. The corporate building is nice...
Cons
I was "let go" last year for a BS reason to make the bottom line look a little better. One day without warning I was asked to meet my manager in a conference room, and was greeted by an HR rep and a security guard...was told I could "keep my health benefits till 11:59 PM that night" then escorted out of the building. Don't understand how I deserved that since I was never given a written or verbal warning that my performance was poor. In fact, only a month earlier I received nothing but great performance marks on my mid-year performance assessment.... Since then I've discovered that this may have been the best thing for me. I quickly found a job making more money and for a company in the nuclear industry that actually respects their employees. I'm constantly finding myself working "casual OT" now...not because it's a BS company mandate, but because the work is fulfilling and I get lost in it. It still seems weird to work in a non-hostile atmosphere where the employees are actually happy to be there. Trust me though I'll get used to it! Yes, the work is hard, but it's worth it when you believe in the company. It does make me sad to think back on the memories of how fantastic Westinghouse once was as a company. Danny has run the company into the dirt and it's only getting worse. I hope once he's done sucking it dry and dumps it, some real leadership will take over and return Westinghouse to what it once was.
