Pros

I enjoy being asked for my opinion and then ignored, I feel valued when I contribute to a conversation to help solve a problem and get insulted by a VP, I enjoy the fear of being laid off daily, I enjoy seeing my friends stabbed in the back at review time after they worked hard on a project, I enjoy exec leadership that tells me to be accountable and stay positive when working with a team yet blames all our financial issues on outside influences (couldn't be the horrible terms you signed for the US contracts) and bash you publically. I enjoy watching VPs hate me because I speak the truth they don't want to hear and love on the liars who tell them only positives. I thrive at spending weekends in the office trying to spin a project into a winner. I enjoy seeing a peer sent to Turkey after the coup and unrest as he feared more for his job than his life. I cherish seeing the nasty cruel leader the company created from a once kind and caring person.

Cons

I wish there wasn't a legal limit on the number of hours worked in a week and I could just live at the company. It only offers child care and not divorce lawyers.

Pros

The salary is above average for the Pittsburgh area. The headquarters building is well equipped and nice to work in. I've worked here for almost 10 years and wish I could say more nice things - I unfortunately cannot - this company has been on a death spiral the last 4 years

Cons

There are many, ranked worst to least offensive: 1. Senior leadership - you cannot be trusted. Look at the every voice matters employee poll - we are telling you to be open and honest. You cannot have a relationship without trust and no loyalty without a r relationship - WAKE UP and BE HONEST 2. Declining business - the mechanical equipment side is dying a slow death due to lower demand and the Chinese reverse engineering our stuff. Are you surprised ? You foolishly gave away our technology. You killed the golden goose for one golden egg. I can't believe any of you graduated from a prestigious business school - you made bad business deals. Donald Trump would have fired every single person on the senior leadership staff - every one 3. Overtime is demanded, not requested. You are BLEEDING the people who are left and making this place a toxic work environment. Do you care about your people or only your bonuses ? 4. Unstable - our parent company is Toshiba and is cash poor and constantly wanting Westinghouse to jump through financial hoops to help bail out their other struggling businesses. Nuclear sales are way down due to depressed oil and gas prices. Employees are secretly being fired. Instead of a publicly announced layoff, the leadership secretly fired several people at a time hoping we won't notice. DO YOU THINK WE ARE STUPID ? We are nuclear engineers - you are not fooling anyone 5. Middle management - are only puppets, they are no real value and act only as a conduit for the higher powers who act selfishly and even unethically at times.

Pros

Your fellow grunts/slaves are fantastic.

Cons

I've been sitting on this review for over six months. It's an appropriate post for Labor Day. I don't understand how this place is operational. They should have Yakety Sax playing on a loop over the PA system. WEC is run by a bunch of male boss comedic/dramatic archetypes. It's absolutely surreal. This is for the employees who are still there. Guess what? It's so much better when you leave! Do it now! I never thought I would be appreciated and making more money. You can do it! Everyone I know who left is relieved and happier in their new jobs. Honestly, look around...Who's left? Geriatrics and new grads.
