Pros
Talented and experience engineering staff that still works well together despite being dehumanized by Westinghouse management since about 2012 when the new "tough love" regime started. Good option for the unemployed, easy place to get into. They need to replace all the people who are quitting to apply their abilities elsewhere. Everyone with marketable talent is leaving unless they are close to retirement or have to stay in the area because of spouse and family. Free taxi cab ride home for those that got laid off without notice. Nice building for spending your nights and weekends. Slip and fall trainer machine, so you can learn to walk a second time.
Cons
The company does not value their employees at all. Every perk and possible pro to working here has been removed in the past 5 years. 40 hours pay, 50 hours worked. No appreciation for the engineers, They are just interchangeable resources and you will be called a resource. Underhanded tactics to downsize by firing without paying severance. If you're not in the cliques and don't say yes to everything, your manager will cook up an indictment about how you've committed some petty offenses and you'll be put on Performance Improvement Plan to be laid off in the next round. Not much engaging work to be found there now. Just a lot of paperwork to tie up loose ends on the new plants, endless training on procedures, and more safety trainings. You will be taught even how to walk.
