Pros

-- Engineers in the trenches do the right thing, in spite of extenuating circumstances. Intelligent, hard-working, and skilled co-workers. -- Involvement in the completion of nuclear power plants that are highly significant for the countries in which they are being built. Unfortunately, the U.S. domestic projects are slowly being scrapped, and the possibility of new projects in UK / India stymied. -- The truly unique and innovative AP1000 Pressurized Water Reactor design -- Benefits were decent but salaries are no longer competitive, due to no pay raises and extremely limited promotions.

Cons

-- Incompetent upper level management drove this company into the ground. Ex-CEO Danny Roderick & Co. never took financial culpability for their actions. Instead, Roderick made $19 million. Mark Murano was, for some unknown reason, paid $2 million to stay at Westinghouse and made COO (he spent a whole meeting telling us about what a difficult decision that was for him to make - oversized ego) -- The annual review system is arcane and wasted, requiring direct managers to give out a certain % of bad reviews every year. This approach is proven to lead to a lack of teamwork and productivity. Why work hard when the majority of your group is destined for a 3-out-of-5 stars? -- July 31st, 2017 - 7% layoffs across the company were announced. This percentage will increase, with the decision on the same day to halt construction on V.C. Summer plant in South Carolina. The layoffs are being performed in the most disrespectful way possible - professionals come to work and - surprise! - their badge just doesn't work anymore. No severance pay, since the company re-wrote their involuntary separation plan to state that the bankruptcy voids any severance pay.
