Pros
The people here are generally pretty great to work with and what we do in field service is extremely unique and challenging. My coworkers are knowledgeable and passionate about making products / projects a success in spite of management policies that have started to noticeably undermine operational sustainability.
Cons
Upper level management - directors and above. There is too much distance between the decisions they make and the actual work being done. They don't understand how the sacrifices they are asking us (in field services) to make impact our lives, and they offer little to no incentive to retain or attract new talent. They have allowed a lot of experienced, hard working people to walk out the door without trying to do anything about it. In addition to that we also have a critical mass of extremely experienced people retiring without any knowledge transfer being done. We now find ourselves at a point where our headcount is low and everyone who is left is being stretched to a breaking point.
