Pros
I've learned so much working for White Lodging. There are a lot of very bright and talented people who work for the company. My boss was just fantastic; very compassionate and accessible. If you are open for relocation, there are so many opportunities for advancement. If you are young person trying to build a career, this is the perfect company.
Cons
You start to feel like you are part of a very dysfunctional family. You never feel like you're good enough . Of course, there is always opprtunity for improvement, but its not presented in a positive way. A lot of managers have issues with alcohol, a pattern noticed at the corporate sponsored events. Way too much paperwork that attracts you from what's really important: the employees and the guests. I had always loved working in hospitality, and White Lodging made me start to question my feelings. I have to say I'm grateful for the education and the opportunities, but I look back at my experience with much sadness. I sacrificed much of my time with friends and family, and in the end it wasn't worth it. If you join the organization, learn as much as you can, grow your career, then get out of there. There is absolutely no work-life balance. They will tell you that is your responsibility, but really they're just trying to absolve themselves of the amount of work they put on your plate.
