Pros

Every two weeks money goes into your bank account

Cons

Trying to re-brand as premium hotels only, but run their properties like an airport Super 8. Will pinch pennies at the hotel level which directly affects your bonus, but corporate leaders recklessly wine and dine the night away after a long day of property walks. Hotels are constantly understaffed to make budget goals. Your life as an operations manager will be 60-70 hours a week easy, not including the random months when hotel is lacking salaried leaders just to save money. Constantly acting like life is great on LinkedIn. You will only be accepted as a true leader once you drink and spread the White Lodging Kool-Aid. Remember, if the LinkedIn job posting doesn't say "due to a recent promotion" it means the person quit or was terminated. Desperate to fill positions, always ask for more money they will low ball you - especially the college grads who are so eager to do whatever Bruce needs. Don't you have enough money bro? There is a difference in "this is the industry," or "don't be so jaded" than straight up being taken advantage of year after year. Turnover of both hourly and salaried employees is lower than McDonald's. Before you apply think twice, you can do better. Work life balance is a joke, no matter how they spin it to you in the interview process. Corporate rolls out a new process every time someone sneezes and the initiative loses traction about 2 months later. Will say anything for you to sign, and wipe the bonus from under your feet the following year.

Pros

White Lodging is very welcoming and treats their employees like family. They respect your time off, which a lot of other companies do not. Amazing benefits. Orientation was extremely helpful. Plenty of opportunities for growth.

Cons

Very high standards but I wouldn't say that's a con. If you're not up for a challenge and you do not want to grow this is not the company for you.

Thank you so much for sharing this — it genuinely warmed our hearts! Hearing that you feel confident, enjoy coming to work, and trust that your manager is invested in both your career and your well-being is exactly what we strive for at White Lodging. We love that you called out our high standards as "honestly not a con" — that perspective is what sets great hospitality leaders apart, and it's clear you're already embracing that culture with enthusiasm. Thank you for the incredible energy you bring to your role every day. We're so glad to have you on the team and look forward to supporting your growth!
