The culture did not keep pace with the expectations placed on employees. It became increasingly difficult to maintain a healthy work-life balance, and there was a noticeable disconnect between leadership messaging and employees’ day-to-day experiences. If you’re someone who enjoys solving complex problems and can navigate ambiguity, you’ll gain valuable experience here. However, be prepared for an environment where long hours, shifting priorities, and inconsistent support can become the norm. I would encourage prospective employees to ask detailed questions during the interview process about workload expectations, career progression, team stability, and how success is actually measured—not just how it’s described. White & Case gave me valuable experience that helped shape my career, but I ultimately realized that professional growth shouldn’t come at the expense of your well-being.
