Pros

The benefits package esp medical. There are some groups that are great to work with.

Cons

There is no growth in the secretarial department. At one point there were opportunities but they were given to the "favorites". Management does not treat you well, unless you are a favorite. Management doesn't know who is a valued employee and who isn't. They also don't have a clue as to who does what on a day to day basis. They also don't know their own policies. One day, you will be told one thing and the next something different. If there is an issue, don't brother going to the direct manager. Go above and keep going until it's fixed. The moral of firm is down. Has been for years now. No year end bonus. The "bonus" is what the attorneys give you. Some will give nothing!

Pros

The lawyers are great to work with and there are many benefits. You work in a team environment and this makes the work flow smoother. This is a great place if they get proper management.

Cons

Since there is no loyalty, you never feel that you have a secure job and you don't really have anyone to turn to if an issue arises.

Pros

Lots of PTO and corporate perks like free admission to museums. Good cafeteria.

Cons

Attorneys have more respect for their desk chairs than the paralegals. No one has work life balance and very few people have any appreciation for any of the support staff. This is a stress culture where everyone competes to be more upset and burnt out. It's a bizarre culture. If you aren't an attorney, you are an idiot to work hard here. There is no job trajectory, there is no bonus structure, and partners refuse to "ok" overtime. I worked here for almost ten years and am still close to several attorneys. When I left, no one said anything. Not congratulations on the new job, what are you doing next, etc. It was a lousy feeling.
