Pros
WSI used to be a great company to learn from and grow within. Working for WSI used to carry prestige (and still does--but that may fade over time). It was a rigorous environment in a good way, and the people were excellent. The heritage of the company is incredible because Chuck Williams was incredible! If I could go back to the earlier years, I would. (PS: the 40% discount & sample sales are also nice.)
Cons
WSI has changed dramatically over the years. The current executive leadership is a bunch of overpaid, self-important, unappreciative narcissists. They pretend that they are people first when in fact they are "me first." As in, my stock options, my bonus, my house in/on Tiburon/Belvedere, my prestige. And, it's a Club. If you are the Club, you're set (despite how stupid and lazy you actually are). If you're not part of the Club (despite how smart and hard working you are), you'll be where you are for a long time, suffering. I would never recommend my former job (nor my boss' job) to a single soul alive. You would have to deal with so much demoralizing stuff. Even if you had a GREAT direct boss, which I was lucky enough to have, you cannot escape the influence of the higher powers at WSI. They will find you and they will make you feel very, very small.
