A great workplace at the start, but then gets worse over time - Software Engineer Wise Employee Review

Pros

- Most people I have worked with are really nice. - If you need to travel to another office in Europe, they will cover travel and accommodation costs.

Cons

- You ask for regular feedback on how to improve and then when it comes to promotion season, you're given a list of nonsensical reasons for why you couldn't be promoted. - You will suffer if you have to work closely with individuals that don't know how to do their job properly. The company justifies keeping them because they can't easily find a replacement. - Coworkers that exaggerate and brag about the work they do, and are better connected to senior management, are rewarded more than coworkers that actually do the most.

Pros

Good PTO, and friendly Wisers.

Cons

Management is totally micromanagement, and the People team does not advocate for employees; they appear present only in name. If I were in Kristo’s position, I would conduct a thorough top-to-bottom review of the entire HR department of U.S., and replace all of them. If over 70% of the Austin team would never recommend this workplace, it is a significant warning sign that needs to be addressed.
