The open, family culture at Wood makes one feel appreciated and that your view is important. Employees are given the autonomy within their specialization and experience to make decisions for the benefit of the customer and the organization.
Cons
Wood is a large organization with many layers and as such progression is slow if any. The business exists in a dynamic economy which results is constant change the impact can cause internal redesign of the human resource strategy where some employees may be placed into jobs not aligned to their qualifications. Despite the immediate change these should not be long term but should be reevaluated timely to readjust the job fit and ensure engaged employees.
