Pros
The new president of the company seems to be very progressive and driven in moving the company forward out of the the 19th century (and a lot of it still indeed is in the 19th century). The company does do a lot for the community in way of volunteering money and time however I feel like that fact is so exploited that I wonder if its just for publicity.
Cons
There are a lot of dated systems, technology, and managerial processes within the company. The board and presidential direction has a good vision but what gets communicated down the pipeline tends to get twisted and warped by management into a more self serving direction. A lot of times transparency and questions are encouraged in company meetings but then immediately criticized in team meetings behind closed doors and out of ear shot of executives. There is a VERY high tolerance for malicious behavior in the company. Little action is taken to improve the behavior of bad management practices and real change is never measured and continuous excuses are made by the company on behalf of the employee to the extent that other employees are told to anticipate the bad behavior and account for it. The technology at the company is extremely outdated (I think its from the 70s). Reps don't have a way to communicate policy information via email. Certificates are still submitted through pen and paper applications and (until recently) even typewriter applications. Security of customer and employee data is a very real concern because of a serious and obvious lack in technology upkeep. There is an ongoing effort to account for these issues however the projected trajectory of the project is years to complete. I fear that by the time the project is completed they will only be outdated all over again. Technology is not a stagnant thing.
