Pros
-Good values, respectful work place. -Good company to work for. -Wostmann's expectations of you are not as intensive as I have experienced at other Consultancies. -They expect you to get your work done within humane working hours. If you can work fast & accurately, you can end up with a very relaxed schedule, but you are ultimately beholden to the client. -The pay is solid for the Alaska area, but not leading/competitive. For example, the larger oil companies, larger native corporations, and telecom companies have higher pay. -They have consistent long-time state / government / local clients. -They have a company healthcare plan, but it's not cheap. The dental and eye care plans are cheap.
Cons
-The performance review process and yearly review process has not been made clear. Career progression within the company is not clear. -I feel mislead in the interview process as to how many total Paid days off they include in their benefits package, and I am disappointed. 15 total Paid days off, including sick time, bereavement, etc. is not "good". It's the bare minimum. -They have consistent long-time state / government / local clients, but it seems like a lot of that work is on very legacy systems. -It appears that the technology they use, and their clients problems are with relatively old technology. You will not be working on the cutting edge. -It's not clear what their long-term growth prospects are. It seems like they will continue coasting, profitably, with primarily existing clients. -I am not seeing strong signs for growth. -They don't have work lined up for all employees, at all times, at the end of all contracts. You might be benched. I don't know how long they are willing to keep people benched. -Payroll is monthly, not bi-weekly, so budget accordingly. -I think they could be more creative, or put forth more effort on business development.
