Pros

It is located in downtown

Cons

Once ___ took over and focused his efforts on increasing Xcel's stock price Xcel's culture and opportunities disappeared. And no, the majority of Xcel's employees do not receive stock...but Senior Leadership does. Xcel has gone from being an inclusive great place to a cut throat political environment where advancement is not much of an option (this is due to several factors, when someone gets fed up and leaves their position is not replaced, for the most part older Management has already slotted specific individuals to take over for any Management openings, and whatever position is retained after someone does leave isn't hired on merit, but stabing in the back politics). Salaries have not increased at a correlating rate with the culture free fall and the bonus pool is not what it once was.

Pros

Standard methods, cloud infrastructure, and reliance on in house staff over contractors makes it very easy to implement safe, fast, consistent changes. You will be valued as a human and you will have a voice within this company. You can make a career here. Your coworkers and immediate leadership are all talented and intelligent individuals who actually know how to do the same work you are doing.

Cons

AI rollout and unevenly applied hybrid work made things difficult for employees with disabilities and those that lived far from office who had traditionally worked remote or for tasks that do not lend themselves well to AI overhead
