You'll leverage BI tools and reporting on a nearly daily basis. You'll how to fundamentally run a busienss. Again, a great place for someone with limited work experience to refine their professional toolkit.
Cons
There is a significant lack of ethnic or cultural diversity. Management is capricious and short sighted. The corporate culture is similar to that of an entited college sorority where very few are part of the inner circle and those looking in can be ostracized instantly and without notice. Leadership is not on the same page regarding the direction of the company. The CEO is weak and hides behind his VPs. The VPs are constantly jocking for position and in doing so throw their managers and subordinates under the bus to avoid blame. Conformity is of the utmost importance. Salaries are low compared to the industry but said to be justified by equity offerings however there is no liquidity event in sight. This is a ploy to justify lower salaries. Leadership encourages gossip and slander. The amount of unnecessary side bar conversations and gossip can be rivaled only by magazines found at the checkout line at your local grocery store. It's middle school all over again but with a hint of nepotism and a sprinkle of narcissism. Don't let the comments of "this isn't for the thin skin" or "it's like a Wall Street job" fool you. This is what management tells their employees to justify poor work conditions. The difficulty in working here isn't ambitious quotas or a demanding workload, there are many careers that consist of both, it's upper management's juvenile approach to managing crisis and people. Management's facade of competence is reinforced by techincal jargon vomit and antiquated business idioms.
