Pros
You'll meet some truly talented and well intended individuals. Food trucks, bagels. Some level of autonomy if earned.
Cons
Burnout and negative energy running rampant. Internal top performers are rewarded with a heavier workload but minimal opportunities for professional growth. Instead, higher level roles are more often than not given to outside hires. There is a disturbing lack of accountability for low performers, despite the impact on the overall team. Leadership was woefully unaware of the reality of the team's volume of work, and was unwilling to serve as a protective barrier to the executive team forwarding more work on top of draconian and arbitrary RTO mandates. Team members commute for an additional two hours per day just to spend their time in virtual meetings because the old school exec team believes being onsite makes them more productive.
