Pros
Above average pay, talented team.
Cons
Xos is the most dysfunctional, incompetent organization I have worked in during my 3 decades in the workforce. Dakota and Gio are both woefully incapable of the roles they find themselves in. Dakota comes from a privileged background with a billionaire father bankrolling the initial Thor/Xos operation, and Gio rode those coattails to the C-suite at Xos. Dakota uses publicly-traded Xos to support his family's wine business, as was the case when he had the Xos Christmas party at his family's wine bar. Neither has any fundamental understanding of the automotive industry, and it shows in the decisions they make each day. Both executive's interactions with manufacturing, supply chain, engineering, and other departments that are critical to a functional automotive company come from a place of ignorance, and are learning the nuances of the industry as they go along. Executive leadership should have an intimate understanding of the industry they're in from Day 1, and not pick up the skillset when employee livelihoods are on the line. Whoever wrote in a previous review that “leadership is incompetent and incredibly cheap” couldn’t have been more accurate. Dakota and Gio see everything through a lens of paying the bare minimum for every aspect of the business. This doesn't work in a company that's attempting to break into an industry that requires massive upfront costs to be relevant. If the company can't burden the costs of supporting multiple product launches, they should have been laser-focused on a single, economical product since the company's inception.
