This company is dangerous to its employees and is a data safety risk to clients - Senior Account Manager Yotpo Employee Review

Pros

None. Literally none, the leadership is abusive and the company culture promotes toxic behaviours.

Cons

As a former Sr. Account Executive, I observed hundreds to thousands of dollars worth of merchant losses, caused by Yotpo's team violations and internal pressure of coordinating dozens of customer accounts, poor infrastructure with no proper maintenance, and patched architecture, and plenty of data safety risks. No one wants to admit it internally and face the truth. I was laid off and had to recover for months from the pace, from the uncertainty, from the toxic culture, and from not being able to do anything for my clients because, for a lot of time, Yotpo's apps didn't even work. We had some resources and training, which had not much to do with what Yotpo really offered. I'm so glad I left this behind but I know some of the former merchants that are still on this product had some serious issues caused by Yotpo, and there was no willingness from the leadership to cover them whatsoever. Everything was shoved under the rug. A scary place.

Pros

Despite the overwhelming amount of issues, I did meet some colleagues who were kind and smart.

Cons

I was at Yotpo for a while, so I saw firsthand how unfair and poorly they operated. It's been said before but if you are a person of color, you will have a very hard time here. They form groups around one identity and favoritism. You won't get promoted or ever feel like you belong. There have been multiple instances where I've felt extremely uncomfortable. Leadership once encouraged us to reach out to customers, asking for support on political causes personal to them. This is extremely unprofessional and inappropriate. In the office, some colleagues would bring up divisive topics often and try to force their opinions on others. There were constant changes from leadership that lacked thought and follow through. Instead of thinking about what was best for employees, leadership made decisions that led to burnout, broke trust, and deepened resentment. One great example is deciding to hire multiple people and then 2 months later announcing a layoff - forcing those remaining to work twice as hard. I've seen peers get mistreated by their managers too. It broke my heart to watch kind, hardworking people be gaslit, spoken down to, and disrespected. There's a reason so many have left and are continuing to. Look to the numbers as proof, and do with that what you will.
