Pros

There are some genuinely great people and highly talented engineers here who possess strong technical skills and are always ready to share knowledge. Before the layoffs, the team in Bulgaria was incredibly close-knit, collaborative, and driven by a lot of enthusiasm.

Cons

The company has recently lost a staggering number of highly capable and talented professionals. The internal processes are terrible, and there is a massive accumulation of technical debt from over the years that simply isn't being addressed. The management style feels like "emotion-driven development"—the environment is highly volatile, where managers might pat you on the back for a job well done one day, and let you go the next.

Pros

Despite the overwhelming amount of issues, I did meet some colleagues who were kind and smart.

Cons

I was at Yotpo for a while, so I saw firsthand how unfair and poorly they operated. It's been said before but if you are a person of color, you will have a very hard time here. They form groups around one identity and favoritism. You won't get promoted or ever feel like you belong. There have been multiple instances where I've felt extremely uncomfortable. Leadership once encouraged us to reach out to customers, asking for support on political causes personal to them. This is extremely unprofessional and inappropriate. In the office, some colleagues would bring up divisive topics often and try to force their opinions on others. There were constant changes from leadership that lacked thought and follow through. Instead of thinking about what was best for employees, leadership made decisions that led to burnout, broke trust, and deepened resentment. One great example is deciding to hire multiple people and then 2 months later announcing a layoff - forcing those remaining to work twice as hard. I've seen peers get mistreated by their managers too. It broke my heart to watch kind, hardworking people be gaslit, spoken down to, and disrespected. There's a reason so many have left and are continuing to. Look to the numbers as proof, and do with that what you will.
