Pros

This is a winning company. Yotpo hires smart hardworking individuals who want to build a company together. Being surrounded by such people is what drives us to come to work energized every morning. We spend many of our hours at work, it better be a positive experience and at Yotpo it is. Since this a client-facing office here in NYC, we have an energetic loud vibe and that fuels us. You need to be comfortable with that, it's not a library environment. Sales and Renewals bells ring often here. We celebrate the wins and acknowledge the losses, learning from every mistake. You'll give and receive feedback often here, constantly challenging ourselves to get better. People here are team-players, we genuinely are happy for each other and for the team's progress. Lastly, people here know how to have a good mix of fun and work and don't take themselves too seriously. Best company I've worked for.

Cons

Yotpo is a company you join if you actually care about developing yourself and your career, while being surrounded by winners. This is a con because if you're joining to just cruise through a comfortable job this isn't the place. You may see people who joined after you did get promoted before you, because they earned it and because we're merit-based. That can be frustrating to people who've come from companies where seniority alone equals promotions and more ownership. Also, this company is growing fast. It can be chaotic at times. It's a startup, not everyone can handle constant change. Be honest with yourself about how much you care about your career, every empty seat is super valuable.

Pros

Despite the overwhelming amount of issues, I did meet some colleagues who were kind and smart.

Cons

I was at Yotpo for a while, so I saw firsthand how unfair and poorly they operated. It's been said before but if you are a person of color, you will have a very hard time here. They form groups around one identity and favoritism. You won't get promoted or ever feel like you belong. There have been multiple instances where I've felt extremely uncomfortable. Leadership once encouraged us to reach out to customers, asking for support on political causes personal to them. This is extremely unprofessional and inappropriate. In the office, some colleagues would bring up divisive topics often and try to force their opinions on others. There were constant changes from leadership that lacked thought and follow through. Instead of thinking about what was best for employees, leadership made decisions that led to burnout, broke trust, and deepened resentment. One great example is deciding to hire multiple people and then 2 months later announcing a layoff - forcing those remaining to work twice as hard. I've seen peers get mistreated by their managers too. It broke my heart to watch kind, hardworking people be gaslit, spoken down to, and disrespected. There's a reason so many have left and are continuing to. Look to the numbers as proof, and do with that what you will.
