Pros

Working at Yotpo is an experience. It's something you'll be telling stories about for the rest of your life. Taking the genius of the product and the expansive market out of the picture, the culture is what makes this place so special. Yotpo takes hiring more seriously than anyone else, reason being they are looking for the best of the best, and won't lower the bar for absolutely any position. The culture is built by these key hires, who are the brightest and most hard-working individuals you'll come across, and when you come into the office in the morning, everyone is smiling, genuinely happy to be at work. This is something you don't find often, and is so refreshing to experience day after day. Even more impressive though is the leadership team running this company. A great idea in the end, can only go as far as the leaders driving it. They are the sharpest, most innovative natural leaders you'll have the pleasure of meeting. Complete experts. You never doubt for a second, that the direction this company is heading towards is the stars. With a team this smart and united, a product unbeatable in the market, and an environment that sets you up not only for success, but unlimited growth potential, you get a winning formula that attracts top talent and brings out only the best in you. If you can make it through the phone interview and come into our office, you'll understand all of the above. This is a magical place, and somewhere you'll feel accomplished and ahead of the game for the future to come.

Pros

Despite the overwhelming amount of issues, I did meet some colleagues who were kind and smart.

Cons

I was at Yotpo for a while, so I saw firsthand how unfair and poorly they operated. It's been said before but if you are a person of color, you will have a very hard time here. They form groups around one identity and favoritism. You won't get promoted or ever feel like you belong. There have been multiple instances where I've felt extremely uncomfortable. Leadership once encouraged us to reach out to customers, asking for support on political causes personal to them. This is extremely unprofessional and inappropriate. In the office, some colleagues would bring up divisive topics often and try to force their opinions on others. There were constant changes from leadership that lacked thought and follow through. Instead of thinking about what was best for employees, leadership made decisions that led to burnout, broke trust, and deepened resentment. One great example is deciding to hire multiple people and then 2 months later announcing a layoff - forcing those remaining to work twice as hard. I've seen peers get mistreated by their managers too. It broke my heart to watch kind, hardworking people be gaslit, spoken down to, and disrespected. There's a reason so many have left and are continuing to. Look to the numbers as proof, and do with that what you will.
